Japanese company Mitsuoka has received more than 1,300 enquiries from people wanting to buy this quirky Dodge Challenger lookalike.

This strange car, called the M55, was unveiled in November 2023 to celebrate Mitsuoka's 55th anniversary. The company said the concept caused unprecedented excitement among people of "all ages and both genders".

By popular demand, Mitsuoka has decided to bring the M55 to life. However, it will take some time. The company intends to put the car on sale closer to the end of 2025.

The concept was based on the Honda Civic five-door hatchback with a 1.5-litre engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. At the front, the car resembles the Challenger, while at the rear it looks more like Japanese coupes from the 1970s such as the Nissan Skyline and Mitsubishi Galant GTO.

Mitsuoka believes it will not be able to produce enough Civic conversions to meet demand. Given that all modifications are handmade, it's safe to say that the M55 won't be cheap.
