The Czech brand has confirmed on social media that it will unveil a new concept car at its annual press conference this Friday, and teased it in a short video.
The car teased in the video is quite similar to the small SUV model that Skoda unveiled last April, which was largely featureless but hinted at the brand's new Modern Solid identity.
Both cars share the same curved front end, bonnet crease and badge placement, suggesting the new concept is an evolution of the 2023 styling model.
Skoda's car is likely to offer a more robust take on the Volkswagen Group's new MEB Entry platform than the Cupra Raval or VW ID.2. The company added that it will have around 460 litres of boot space, similar to today's Skoda Scala hatchback.
The VW ID 2all concept has already provided a hint of the siblings' technical specifications. Volkswagen claimed it would have a front-mounted engine and could offer two battery sizes of 38kWh and 56kWh, with the latter giving a range of around 450km.
Affordability is key to the new Skoda EV's brief: the brand previously said it was targeting a starting price of €25,000 "to make electric mobility affordable".
