The 165 Renault Trucks E-Tech recently ordered are intended to gradually replace the diesel fleet of XPO trucks on suburban and regional missions.

XPO Logistics has announced an order for 165 Renault Trucks E-Tech electric trucks, including 105 tractors and 60 rigids.

In an interview with the French daily newspaper  Les Echos, Bruno Kloeckner, Managing Director of XPO Logistics of France, emphasised the importance of this acquisition: "We have already received the first series-produced electric tractor unit, so this is quite a step forward for us. The company, a pioneer in the field of electric mobility, had already made an initial purchase of 65 Renault Trucks E-Tech electric rigids a year ago.

The 165 Renault Trucks E-Tech recently ordered are intended to gradually replace the diesel fleet of XPO trucks on suburban and regional missions. XPO Logistics plans to make around 25% of its deliveries using electric vehicles by 2030, thereby reducing its CO2 emissions by more than 26,000 tonnes.

With its partner Renault Trucks, XPO Logistics is transforming its fleet to comply with forthcoming regulations on deliveries in urban areas, while helping its customers to achieve their own decarbonisation objectives. XPO aims to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions in France by 25% by 2025, compared with 2019. Renault Trucks, for its part, intends to achieve 50% of its sales in electric vehicles by 2030 and, by 2040, 100% of the vehicles it markets will be carbon-neutral.
