Bentley has teamed up with renowned whisky maker The Macallan to create a single malt Scotch whisky. Although no price has been announced for this special drink, we can only imagine that it will be extravagantly expensive.
The whisky comes in a special glass vessel that looks more like a work of art than a bottle, and includes an aluminium ribbon wrapped around the glass. The bottle is also encased in chestnut-coloured carbon leather and has a frame made from recycled copper.
As if that wasn't enough to make Bentley customers happy, the fact that each bottle comes with an oak inlay made from one of the six oak casks used to make the whisky may encourage customers to pay for it.
The Macallan Horizon
As for the whisky itself, it has been crafted by The Macallan Master Whisky Maker, Kirsteen Campbell, from six sherry-seasoned oak casts. It is said to provide notes of dried fruit and spices with aromas of oak and leather.
“We’ve spent years working with The Macallan through our partnership, taking time to craft this incredible first joint product that represents the best of both brands,” Bentley chairman and chief executive Adrian Hallmark said. “Centred on innovative materials throughout that reflect our focus on the future, the end result – both the whisky and the vessel that contains it – are stunning, and represent a new benchmark for design, materials and quality in this space.”
The Macallan Horizon is a very limited edition release, available only in 70cl bottles and is distributed through The Macallan Estate Boutique, a global network of travel-retail boutiques and premium off-trade retailers.
