QX80 makes its public debut at the 2024 New York International Auto Show and goes on sale later this summer.

Exterior

The 2025 QX80 adopts Infiniti's streamlined 'Artistry in Motion' design language, previewed by the QX Monograph concept. The result is a striking design that is both fresh and familiar.

Some significant changes are visible at the front of the vehicle, where there's a new iteration of the company's double-arched grille. The grille takes inspiration from the organic shapes of a bamboo forest and includes an illuminated Infiniti logo. The split lighting units and vertical air curtains flank the grille, aiding in the improvement of aerodynamics.

Infiniti spent more than six years developing a new Dynamic Metal paint job. It’s designed to give the SUV a “liquid metal feel” as the paint is applied in a “precise process that ensures metallic flakes lay flat.” This results in a “smooth texture and a hue that dramatically changes based on viewing angle.”

The styling evolution continues at the rear, where there's a modern tailgate with a full-width light bar. The light bar has over 300 LEDs and is intended to evoke the peaceful reflection of light on water.

Regarding lighting, the QX80 has a new Light Path system in its welcome sequence. As the owner approaches the vehicle, the door handles automatically extend, and the Infiniti logo illuminates, followed by the daytime running lights.

Interior

Designers embraced the Japanese principle of 'miyabi' to improve the QX80's interior. The result is a layered design with soft touch accents and dual 14.3-inch displays. The infotainment system is noteworthy for featuring Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play store.

The dashboard is dominated by a new 9-inch display located on the ramp-like center console, providing access to the drive mode selector, climate control settings, and front seat controls.

The interior is a luxurious mix of leather, wood and metal. Soft-touch accents abound, and the dash features illuminated Infiniti badging and flowing lines. Other highlights include a push-button shifter, a 64-color ambient lighting system and an available center console cooler.

There’s also new Front Wide View that uses cameras to provide a 170-degree view of the vehicle’s surroundings on the 14.3-inch displays. There’s also an Invisible Hood View, which shows video of what’s directly in front of the vehicle “as if one could see right through the engine bay.” They’re joined by an improved AroundView monitor and an upgraded digital rearview mirror.

The QX80 Pure and Lux models are equipped with a 14-speaker Klipsch audio system that delivers 600 watts of power. The Sensory and Autograph versions, on the other hand, feature a 24-speaker system with titanium tweeters, an 8-inch TriPower subwoofer, and a 24-channel amplifier. Additionally, the system includes four roof-mounted speakers and metal-trimmed speakers mounted to the front headrests.

Engine

The old 5.6-liter V8 has been replaced by a new twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 under the hood. The engine produces 450 hp (336 kW / 456 PS) and 516 lb-ft (699 Nm) of torque, which is an increase of 50 hp (37 kW / 51 PS) and 103 lb-ft (139 Nm). Additionally, the seven-speed transmission has been replaced by a new nine-speed gearbox.

The Pure and Lux models come with rear-wheel drive, while the Sensory and Autograph models have four-wheel drive. Additionally, the SUV offers an air suspension that can lower the vehicle by 2.8 inches (71 mm) or raise it 2.4 inches (61 mm) for off-roading.

Safety

The vehicle has several standard driver assistance systems to ensure safety, such as Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Intervention, Lane Departure Prevention, and Trailer Blind Spot Warning.

Additionally, ProPILOT Assist 1.1 is included as standard, which combines adaptive cruise control with a lane centering function to make long trips more relaxing. Higher-end models feature ProPILOT Assist 2.1, a Level 2 semi-autonomous driving system that enables hands-free driving on select highways.

Pricing

The 2025 Infiniti QX80 will be available in the U.S. market this summer, starting at $82,450. This is a significant increase from the 2024 model, which had a starting price of $74,150.
