Volkswagen has teamed up with Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment for the global release of "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire", featuring the VW ID.4. The movie premiered globally on March 27, with later dates in North America on March 29 and in Germany on April 4.

The partnership brings together Volkswagen's recent efforts in showcasing their products through entertainment platforms. The VW ID.4, Volkswagen's first all-electric compact SUV, is featured in the film. Its key features include a spacious interior, a range of up to 531 kilometers per the WLTP cycle, and quick-charging capabilities of up to 135 kW.

"Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" attracted significant attention before its release. Its teaser trailer, launched in December 2023, garnered over 100 million views. The cast includes notable names such as Rebecca Hall, Bryan Tyree Henry, Kaylee Hottle, and surprisingly, the Volkswagen ID.4 itself.

In addition to the movie's launch, Volkswagen also engaged audiences through social media with clips titled "The Awakening", "Need A Charge", and "Coffee Run". These clips were themed around humor, performance, technical prowess, and storytelling within the "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" universe.

This approach signifies Volkswagen’s strategy of integrating its automotive innovations within popular culture to appeal to a broader audience.

This initiative reflects an evolving trend where movie collaborations are increasingly becoming a platform for showcasing technological advancements and sustainability commitments by leading corporations like Volkswagen.
