Ford is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its iconic Mustang with a special package for the 2025 model year. The limited edition, offered on the new Mustang GT Premium, will be available in both coupe and convertible styles.

This special run features design elements inspired by the original Mustang introduced at the 1964 World's Fair in New York.

The 2025 Mustang GT Premium will sport a 5.0-liter V8 engine with options for both manual and automatic transmissions. It will feature anniversary badges on fenders and trunk lid, and stylish 20-inch Dark Gravity Gray wheels with Vermillion Red machined details. Emphasizing its historical ties, center caps on the wheels mimic those from the 1965 Mustang.

Further celebrating nostalgia, it offers interior choices like Space Gray, Carmine Red, or Black Onyx. Each car includes a dash plaque displaying its serial number ranging from 1 to 1,965, commemorating the year when Mustang sales skyrocketed. The grille updates a classic look from the '60s mesh design.

This special edition also stands out with three unique body colors: Wimbledon White, Race Red, or Vapor Blue coupled with bodyside graphics in Iconic Silver or Vermillion Red. Ford has yet to release pricing details but expects to open order books this summer.

First debuting over six decades ago, the Ford Mustang quickly symbolized American spirit. Originally hoped to sell well within first year targets of around 100k units, initial sales massively outpaced predictions, securing upwards of 400 thousand units sold within its first twelve months post-launch—marking an unprecedented start that solidified its icon status in automotive history swiftly reaching one million units sold by the end of two years following debut.
