Ford Motor Company has announced a new custom gauge option for all current-generation Mustangs. This update celebrates the iconic model’s 60th anniversary by integrating instruments that mimic the distinct style of the 1965 Mustang.

The latest feature introduces retro-styled speedometers and tachometers to modern Mustangs—a nostalgic nod that blends classic aesthetics with next-gen technology. Each gauge features a circular design encased in a chrome ring, equipped with a red needle and a narrow font distinctive of the 1965 models. Meanwhile, elements like the coolant temperature, center information section, and fuel gauge retain their modern designs but incorporate colors that match the vintage graphics.

The over-the-air update, available from today, is provided free and is compatible with all current-generation Mustangs.

Ford's previous attempts at retro-inspired instrumentations tapped into designs from late-model Fox Body Mustangs with pale green illumination features. The new scheme, however, leaps further back to embrace aesthetic notes more faithfully aligned with initial releases.
