Skoda Elroq compact electric SUV spotted for the first time

The first spy shots of the Skoda Elroq, the upcoming compact electric SUV, have surfaced in Europe. Set to be an electric successor to the Karoq, this new model is anticipated for introduction later this year. The Elroq will slot beneath the Enyaq model but will be based on the versatile MEB platform utilized across various electric models.

The new Skoda Elroq is a crossover SUV boasting a length of approximately 4.5 meters and promising a spacious and practical interior. It features a modern design with split lighting units at the front, a fully enclosed grille that shows its electric nature, and stylish vertical air curtains. Additional exterior details include wide metallic-accented lower intakes, pronounced wheel arches, and a sleek silhouette enhanced by a rakish windscreen and sloping roof.

Not just focused on exterior aesthetics; the interior of the Elroq is described as minimalistic yet functional with an expansive infotainment system taking center stage. This passage highlights optimal use of space with advanced digital setups like small instrument clusters for driver ease.

The model is expected to be based on the MEB platform and is likely to share a number of components with its electric counterparts. This means that the model could have a 62 kWh battery pack as well as a rear-mounted motor that develops 179 hp and 310 Nm of torque. A stronger AWD version would not be surprising.
