Dacia is gearing up to launch a new entry-level SUV in 2027, replacing the Sandero Stepway. This yet-unnamed model will target the B-SUV segment.

The Sandero Stepway has been a significant success for Dacia, accounting for two-thirds of all Sandero sales. Despite its crossover-inspired design, it is essentially a raised hatchback, struggling to compete with true subcompact SUVs. The upcoming model will adopt a more authentic SUV stance while remaining compact.

The third-generation Dacia Duster is also a B-SUV, but its larger size compared to the original opens up space for a smaller sibling. This new "baby SUV" will measure no more than 4,150 mm in length, compared to the Duster's 4,343 mm.

The new SUV will draw design cues from the Manifesto concept and the Sandrider, Dacia’s 2025 Dakar Rally vehicle, though it will feature a more conventional B-SUV appearance with rugged details.

With a taller body, the new model will offer more interior space than the Sandero Stepway, maintaining generous ground clearance and protective plastic cladding for a robust look. Inside, the SUV will feature Dacia’s YouClip mounting system for easy customization and practical design.

The model will likely be based on Renault Group’s CMF-B architecture, shared with the Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Logan, Jogger, and Duster. This platform will also support the Dacia Bigster SUV in 2025 and upcoming models in 2026.

Powertrain options are expected to include petrol, LPG, mild-hybrid, and full-hybrid versions, with the possibility of a fully electric variant. The availability of all-wheel drive (AWD) remains uncertain, but it's a consideration as Dacia could offer a budget-friendly alternative to the Jeep Avenger.

The new Dacia SUV is anticipated to launch by 2027, with development testing potentially starting next year. Keep an eye out for camouflaged prototypes.
