Spotted during testing in the Alps, the heavily camouflaged electric crossover appears to take design cues from the recently updated Puma. Visible changes include a fully enclosed grille and a revised front bumper.
While the interior wasn’t photographed, it is expected to mirror its conventional counterpart. Anticipated features include a 12.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12-inch SYNC 4 infotainment system, along with a wireless smartphone charger and advanced driver assistance systems such as Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go.
Ford Puma EV
The powertrain details remain a mystery, but the Puma is likely to share similarities with the E-Transit Courier. This suggests an electric motor producing 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS) and 214 lb-ft (290 Nm) of torque, along with a modest 100 kW DC fast charging capability. This charging speed would allow the van to gain up to 54 miles (87 km) of range in just 10 minutes.
Ford has kept specifics under wraps but previously announced the Puma Gen-E will debut later this year. Pricing is expected to be higher than the regular Puma (£25,800), but significantly less than the Mustang Mach-E (£43,330) and Explorer EV (£45,875).
