AC has unveiled the Cobra GT Coupe, marking the first time the company has offered a fixed-roof version of the iconic Cobra road car.

Over its 62-year production run, the AC Cobra has seen various engine configurations, fender designs, and even a carbon body. However, the Cobra GT Coupe is the first genuine AC Cobra to feature a coupe body.

This new model is essentially a closed-roof version of the Cobra GT Roadster, aiming to modernize the classic car using a contemporary aluminum chassis and technology while maintaining its iconic look. The Coupe debuts as a track-focused Clubsport Edition, boasting a 799 hp (810 PS) supercharged V8, with production limited to 99 units.

Following the limited edition, series production GT Coupes will be available with either a naturally aspirated 450 hp (456 PS) V8 or a 720 hp (730 PS) supercharged V8, starting at £325,000 ($417,000) plus taxes. Each car will be crafted at AC’s UK workshop, featuring a carbon fiber body that is longer than the original Cobra’s to enhance comfort and usability for modern drivers.
