This new M5 Touring represents the third wagon variant in the model's history, following the E34 and E61 generations. BMW will build the vehicle at its Dingolfing plant, targeting key markets including Germany, the USA, UK, Canada, and Switzerland.
Under the hood, the M5 Touring packs a punch. It combines a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 engine with a hybrid electric system, delivering a total output of 717 horsepower (727 PS) and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque.
BMW estimates the M5 Touring will weigh around 5,530 lbs (2,508 kg), about 140 lbs (63 kg) heavier than its sedan counterpart. Despite its size, the wagon boasts near 50:50 weight distribution, thanks to its long wheelbase, wide tracks, and low center of gravity.

Performance-wise, the M5 Touring doesn't disappoint. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds) and reaches 124 mph (200 km/h) in 11.1 seconds. The top speed maxes out at 190 mph (305 km/h) when the optional M Driver’s package is installed.
The exterior design features flared rear wheel arches and an integrated roof spoiler. Inside, drivers will find M5-specific interior lighting, a new steering wheel design, and BMW's Operating System 8.5 with a Curved Display showing M-specific graphics.
Practicality hasn't been overlooked. The M5 Touring offers. The trunk volume is 500 to 1,630 liters. The rear seats split 40:20:40, with the center seat folding individually to allow for long items. The M5 Touring comes standard with a Sky Lounge panoramic roof, an electric rear blind, and a power-operated tailgate.
In Germany, pricing starts at 146,000 euros. For the U.S. market, the base MSRP is set at $121,500, plus a $1,175 destination fee. This puts it at a $2,000 premium over the base M5 sedan.
