Jeep has given us a sneak peek at the next generation of the Compass. The company released a design sketch of the new crossover, hinting at its upcoming world debut in Europe.

The fresh Compass will ride on Stellantis' STLA Medium platform. Jeep plans to offer the Compass in fully electric, internal combustion engine, and hybrid versions. It's a smart play, as the Compass is Jeep's most widely available model around the globe.

Production of the new Compass kicks off next year at Stellantis' plant in Melfi, Italy. The company will expand production to North America and other regions in 2026.

The design sketch shows that Jeep's taking an evolutionary approach to the Compass' styling. We can spot a different take on the quarter glass, and the new model looks a bit bigger than the current one.

In Jeep's lineup, the Compass will sit above the all-new Renegade. It'll be positioned below the Recon and a new mainstream utility vehicle. Jeep plans to roll out all three of these models by 2027.

The STLA Medium platform is getting a workout. It'll also underpin the Peugeot 3008 and 5008, Opel Grandland, and the upcoming next-gen Citroën C5 Aircross. The first product on this platform, the Peugeot E-3008, gives us a hint of what to expect. It'll come in front-wheel-drive single-motor and all-wheel-drive dual-motor setups. Battery packs will be available in 73 kWh and 98 kWh capacities, with 160-kW DC charging capability.

We can likely expect Jeep's version of the Compass to share some similarities with its Stellantis cousins on the STLA Medium platform.
