The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 is designed for long-distance transport and has a range of up to 500 kilometres without intermediate charging thanks to a battery with a capacity of more than 600 kWh. Daimler Truck claims that in real-world conditions it can cover more than 1,000 kilometres per day, taking into account recharging during the driver's mandatory breaks.
The eActros 600 is the brand's first electric truck to be assembled in a single production facility. The conversion of the assembly lines as well as the integration of the eActros 600 into the assembly line has been a gradual process. The previous eActros 300/400 and eEconic electric truck models leave the production hall for the assembly of the electric drive components and are then sent to the Future Truck Centre for final assembly.
The electric drive components are supplied by Daimler Truck's plants in Mannheim, Kassel and Hagenau. These include the electric axle, transmission components and the high-voltage unit located in the traditional location of the combustion engine.
The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 was introduced at the end of 2023. This model has already won the "International Truck of the Year 2025" award and travelled 15,000 kilometres on a European test tour. From next year it is planned to introduce megawatt charging support, which will further expand the capabilities of the eActros 600.
The first examples will be produced as demonstration vehicles for dealers and customers, although some will already be available for commercial use by the end of 2024 thanks to government subsidies in Germany.
