The country's largest manufacturer, Škoda Auto, produced 896,933 vehicles, 3.7 per cent more than in 2023. Electric models accounted for 10.8% of total production, including 79,932 electric vehicles and 16,602 plug-in hybrids.
Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech production fell 2.8%, making 330,890 vehicles. Of these, 33,300 were electric vehicles and 21,328 were plug-in hybrids, together accounting for 16.5 per cent of the total.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing increased production by 17% to 225,058 vehicles, half of which were Yaris HEV hybrids.
It is worth noting that production of electric cars and plug-in hybrids in the Czech Republic fell by 16% to 151,162 units. Martin Jahn, president of the Automotive Industry Association, emphasised that this indicates a decline in consumer interest in electric vehicles, which could make it more difficult to meet future EU environmental regulations.
Overall, more than 93 per cent of cars produced in the Czech Republic were exported. Vehicle exports grew by 4.5 per cent year-on-year.
