BMW has unveiled the unique X7 Nishiki Lounge concept in Japan, created in honour of traditional Japanese craftsmanship. This version of the X7 blends German premium with the Japanese philosophy of aesthetics, where every element counts.

The basic body colour is BMW Individual Velvet Blue. It is combined with the Space Silver upper section, which symbolises the glow of nebulae in space. The Iconic Glow grille and Crystal Light headlights add to the futuristic look.

Inside, the concept is highlighted by Rakugei Kobo's signature Rakugei Kobo decorative panels with a special lacquer finish. The centre console is trimmed with kuska fabric with a foil effect reminiscent of twinkling stars. Special mats created by textile manufacturer Kawashima Selkon depict the universe. And the panoramic Sky Roof has 15,000 LED accents that reproduce the starry sky. Finally, for total immersion in cosmic comfort, the concept car is equipped with Bowers Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound acoustics.

BMW hasn't revealed the specs, but judging by the lettering on the boot door, the concept is based on the X7 xDrive40d. This means that under the bonnet is probably a 3.0-litre turbo diesel engine with 347 hp and 720 Nm, allowing the standard X7 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
