From March this year, the Renault Megane GrandCoupe range will be supplemented by a version with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 115 hp combined with a 7-speed EDC automatic gearbox. Thanks to this combination, the sedan has a manufacturer's claimed average fuel consumption of 4.6-4.7 l/100 km on the WLTP cycle, which is one litre less than the petrol version with the 1.3 TCe engine.
This is a proven engine previously offered in other models of the brand. The Megane GrandCoupe has a 50-litre fuel tank. Thus, when fully fuelled, the car can theoretically travel up to 1,060 km from petrol station to petrol station.
Renault said in a Czech press release that it has decided to continue production of the Megane sedan at the Turkish plant "despite the new GSR2 safety regulation" because of the high demand for the model.
