The second generation C5 Aircross is based on Stellantis' new STLA Medium architecture, on which the Peugeot 3008 and Vauxhall Grandland are also based. The novelty will become the flagship of the updated Citroën range, which also includes the Ami, C3 and C4 models.
Dimensions of the car have increased: the length has grown by 150 mm and now makes 4652 mm, and the wheelbase has lengthened at once by 600 mm. Almost all the growth has gone to increase legroom for rear passengers.
The front panel resembles furniture: it is trimmed with soft fabric, reminiscent of sofa upholstery, and is available in light or dark design. Decorative lighting is available in eight colours.

The centrepiece of the dashboard is a large 'floating' touchscreen - the largest ever fitted to Stellantis cars. For ease of use while the car is in motion, the screen is fixed with widgets for quick settings and access to climate control functions.
Smartphone screen mirroring and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster are standard features. Vehicle functions can be controlled via the ChatGPT-based "Hello Citroën" voice assistant. A projection display is available as an option, which is 30 per cent larger than the previous generation.
The 'Advanced Comfort' front seats have been redesigned, with thick padding at the bottom and an upper section that 'hugs the passenger's shoulders like a shawl'. The side support can now be adjusted electrically. At the same time, the rear seat tilt is adjustable from 21 to 33 degrees. There are two cup holders and two USB-C ports for rear passengers.

The boot is noticeably larger, with 651 litres of space behind the seat backs - almost 150 litres more than the Nissan Qashqai. With the seats folded down, the volume increases to 1,668 litres. An additional 75-litre compartment is hidden under the boot floor - it is intended, in particular, for storing the charging cable of the electric version.
Citroën will offer two hybrid versions at the start of sales:
- Soft Hybrid: a 1.2-litre petrol three-cylinder engine paired with a small electric motor integrated into the robotised gearbox and a 0.9 kW∙h battery pack under the driver's seat.
- Plug-in hybrid (PHEV): a 1.6-litre petrol four-cylinder motor combined with a 123bhp electric motor. The combined output is 193 hp, the battery capacity is 21 kWh, and the electric range is about 85 kilometres.
The all-electric C5 Aircross will be available in two modifications:
- 73 kW∙h battery, driving range - 520 kilometres.
- 97 kW∙h battery with a range of 679 kilometres.
The electric motor on the front axle will develop 207 or 227 hp.
Prices for the new Citroën C5 Aircross have not yet been announced. Deliveries will begin in the second half of this year.
