Alpine, part of the Renault Group, has unveiled the A390, an all-electric fastback crossover based on last year's A390 Beta concept. Sales of the model will start in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The car is 4.62 metres long and has a wheelbase of 2.71 metres. The exterior of the A390_β is almost identical to the A390_β concept. The design features narrow daytime running lights, triangular decorative elements on the front and rear of the body, some of which are illuminated, and headlights neatly integrated into the air intakes. The A390 is built on the AmpR Medium platform, which is also used in other Renault and Nissan models. The boot volume is 532 litres.

Future A390 buyers will be able to choose between two versions with a three-engine all-wheel drive system. The front is equipped with a synchronous electric motor with an excitation winding (ESM), while the rear has two synchronous permanent magnet motors (PMSM) that provide active traction distribution (Torque Vectoring).

The GT version develops 295 kW (401 hp) and accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The top speed is 200 km/h. The more powerful GTS version produces 345 kW (469 hp), accelerates to 60 km/h in 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 220 km/h. Both versions support five driving modes, have a short-term overtaking power boost function (Overtake) and Launch Control.

The 89 kWh NMC battery is made up of cells manufactured by the French company Verkor. The WLTP range is up to 555 km with 20-inch wheels and up to 520 km with 21-inch wheels. It supports fast DC charging with a capacity of up to 190 kW, which can be charged from 15 to 80% in less than 25 minutes. The standard AC charging capacity is 11 kW, with an optional 22 kW. Two-way charging (V2G) is also supported.

The interior includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12-inch touchscreen multimedia system on Android Automotive. Alpine will offer six body colours and a choice of 20- and 21-inch wheels.

The new Alpine model can be preliminarily rivaled by such models as the Porsche Macan Electric and Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. Prices for the new model have not yet been announced. According to rumours, they will start at around 60,000 euros.
