The ordered vehicles are Arocs 6x6 with all-wheel drive and a payload capacity of up to 10 tons. These are so-called hümS-vehicles - commercial trucks with limited military equipment, including camouflage paint. Such vehicles complement the army vehicle fleet and may later be sold in the civilian market.
The trucks are intended to enhance Germany’s military transport capabilities for the defense of the country and allies. Deliveries will be completed by the end of May 2026.
The three-axle truck is designed for off-road conditions with high ground clearance and a robust chassis. It can cross water obstacles up to 0.9 meters deep.
The OM 470 diesel engine delivers 455 hp with a torque of 2200 Nm and works with an automated PowerShift 3 transmission. All vehicles meet Euro VI standards.

The trucks are equipped with a 15-foot interchangeable platform from Sonntag Fahrzeugbau, which remains stable even under heavy frame skew on rough terrain. The platform can be quickly changed or transferred to another vehicle.
The ordered Arocs 6x6 trucks will be produced at the German-French facility. The axles are supplied from the Mercedes-Benz plant in Kassel, and the transmissions from the Mercedes-Benz plant in Gaggenau. The OM 470 engine is supplied by the factory in Mannheim, and it is installed at the largest truck manufacturing plant of Mercedes-Benz Trucks. The connection between the driver’s cab and the chassis will also take place at the plant in Wörth.
In Molsheim, France, the manufacturer then equips the vehicles with special military equipment. There, a chemical-resistant base coating is also applied, which reduces visibility in night vision devices and thermal imaging.
