Audi officially unveiled the new generation Q3 crossover. The model has transformed both outside and inside, while retaining the MQB platform (in its upgraded version) and has inexplicably received touch buttons on the steering wheel.

The new Audi Q3 differs from the previous generation with smoother lines and generally looks more solid. The front lighting is arranged in two levels: the upper section's design can be adjusted, while the lower sections of the headlights project warnings onto the road. The smallest wheel rims are 17 inches. Optional 20-inch rims are available.

The interior features finishing materials with elements made from recycled materials - recycled polyester and nylon. Two displays are installed in a single housing at the front - a digital cockpit with a diagonal of 11.9 inches and a 12.8-inch multimedia system screen, which has taken over climate control management, eliminating the separate block.

While the updated VW Golf received regular physical buttons on the steering wheel instead of touch ones after complaints from owners, the new Audi Q3 switched the buttons to sensors. The gear selector has been moved from the central tunnel to the steering column. Moreover, the Q3 is the first among Audi models to receive a new dual lever to the left of the steering wheel. This element is responsible for controlling the lights and windshield wipers.

Currently, several gasoline versions, a diesel, and a plug-in hybrid are available. The 2.0 TDI diesel engine produces 150 hp, paired with a seven-speed S tronic transmission with dual clutches and front-wheel drive. The entry-level 1.5-liter gasoline engine has the same power - 150 hp - and is mated to the same S-Tronic but is complemented by a 48-volt starter-generator.

There is also a version with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine producing 265 hp, S tronic transmission, and quattro all-wheel drive. In the hybrid version, the 1.5 TFSI gasoline engine (177 hp) is assisted by an electric motor with 116 hp, integrated into the six-speed transmission. The battery capacity is 25.7 kWh (19.7 kWh usable). The electric range is 119 km in the WLTP cycle. The plug-in hybrid is currently only front-wheel drive.

Sales of the new Audi Q3 will start only in October, but orders are already open. Prices in Germany start at 44,600 euros for the entry-level gasoline model and 49,300 euros for the hybrid.
