Mazda has launched the Mazda Charging app, which provides access to hundreds of thousands of charging stations across Europe. It contains real-time information about the availability and cost of charging, as well as allowing payment for the service.

Mazda Charging was developed in collaboration with autoSense from Zurich, which specializes in digital solutions for charging. The partnership with the European firm aims to provide the most convenient service for customers in local markets. In the future, new features are planned to be added, such as cost optimization for charging or the use of "green" energy.

The service will launch in Europe this month, coinciding with the premiere of the new Mazda6e electric vehicle. The Mazda Charging app:

  • finds stations and shows their availability in real-time;
  • contains data on charging power and rates;
  • can start and stop sessions, as well as pay for them directly in the app;
  • supports various payment methods without mandatory subscription;
  • works with multiple languages and different currencies.

In addition to the mobile app, an RFID card is available, which allows starting and stopping charging without a smartphone. User support is provided through autoSense.

According to Mazda Motor Europe CEO Martijn ten Brink, the goal of the new service is to make charging electric vehicles as simple and natural as driving them.
