The Audi Concept C will go into production in 2027 almost unchanged. It also showcases the new design language of future models from the brand.
The presentation of this show car marks Audi’s return to the sports car segment, after the TT stepped down in 2023 and production of the super sports car R8 was halted. The new project confirms that the company is preparing a compact electric two-seater vehicle focused on technology and driver engagement.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner emphasized that the model is not intended as a successor to the TT but will occupy its own niche. He added that the name for the production version will be chosen closer to the launch.
Audi Concept C
The name of the concept immediately refers to two things: Audi’s new approach to "clarity" and the legendary racing car Auto Union Typ C from 1936. The author is the new chief designer of the brand Massimo Frascella, who previously worked at Jaguar Land Rover on the Discovery, Defender, and Range Rover. He intends to make Audi unique through a minimalist and monolithic style without superfluous embellishments.
Frascella confirmed that the production version will be practically identical to the prototype and will come to market in 2027. The vehicle will feature a removable hardtop (for the first time for Audi convertibles) and the feeling of a mid-engine sports car thanks to the centrally positioned battery. This approach improves weight distribution and lowers the center of gravity, allowing the seats to be positioned closer to the ground, similar to classic sports cars with combustion engines.

The platform is a modified version of the PPE architecture developed in collaboration with Porsche. The new Boxster and Cayman are based on it.
The concept is equipped with an electric motor on the rear axle, but models with two motors are announced for the production version. Currently, there are no data on performance.
The interior is designed in the spirit of "hidden technologies" (shy tech). The main focus is on simplicity and genuine tactile elements: buttons made of anodized aluminum, a multimedia screen integrated into the dashboard, and even a metallic logo on the steering wheel.
