The new generation Eclipse Cross is an all-electric crossover for Europe. Production will be set up at the Renault plant in France, and sales will begin at the end of 2025.

The new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is a reworked Renault Scenic E-Tech with distinctive design elements from the Japanese brand. The novelty is based on the CMF-EV (Ampr Medium) platform, known from the Renault Megane/Scenic E-Tech and Nissan Ariya.

So far, only a version with a single electric motor with a power of 218 hp (160 kW) and an 87 kWh battery has been presented, providing a range of about 600 km. It supports fast charging of up to 150 kW. In 2026, a more affordable modification with 170 hp (125 kW) and a 60 kWh battery will appear.

Unlike the first generation Eclipse Cross, which had a coupe-like silhouette, the new EV has become a more classic compact SUV: length - 4470 mm, wheelbase increased to 2785 mm. Inside - a digital instrument cluster (12.3 inches), a vertical 12-inch multimedia screen with Google services, an electrochromic panoramic roof, and a Harman Kardon audio system. The trunk volume ranges from 478 to 1670 liters.

Externally, the crossover differs from Scenic with a revamped front end featuring "dual-tier" optics, a subdued grid in the style of Outlander, and unique rear lights. The model is available with 19 or 20-inch wheels.

Eclipse Cross EV will be positioned in the European Mitsubishi range one tier below the Outlander PHEV and will already be the fourth "transformed" Renault model after the Colt (Clio), ASX (Captur), and Grandis (Symbioz). Thus, the Japanese brand has finally switched to a badge-engineering strategy in Europe.
