Dacia, together with the Romanian body shop Romturingia, has made a strange pickup-style vehicle out of the third generation Duster crossover.

The oddity lies in the very small trunk. The top part of the body around the trunk was cut off, a folding platform was installed instead of the fifth door, and a partition with the passenger section was added. The proportions of the crossover have been preserved, and the rear doors remained in standard form.

The dimensions of the cargo compartment are only 1050 x 1000 mm. From some angles, it is barely visible. But Dacia had its own calculation: a complete transformation into a classic pickup would be expensive, and the company is traditionally known for its strict cost control. Although the parent company Renault had already produced the Oroch pickup with a normal body for South America based on the previous generation Duster.

The load capacity of the new model is 430 kg. The platform is equipped with two metal guides and four eyes for fastening. In this form, the Duster Pick-up in Romania costs more than 31,000 euros including VAT (21%).

This is more expensive than a regular Duster, but significantly cheaper than "real" pickups. The Toyota Hilux will cost about 10,000 euros more, while the Ford Ranger and Volkswagen Amarok are even more expensive. However, for many, a van would seem more practical.

And here Dacia also has an answer: the British division of the brand has just introduced the Duster Cargo. Instead of a rear sofa, a flat floor with a wear-resistant coating and a partition-net has been installed.

Behind the front seats, there is a cargo volume of 1149 liters. The car features four attachment points, rubber mats, and a removable shelf for the entire length of the interior. The rear windows are covered with a matte film to hide the contents. In the UK, the Duster Cargo starts at £27,594 (including VAT).
