Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng announced the achievement of a significant milestone — the company’s one-millionth car has rolled off the production line.

According to CEO He Xiaopeng, it took Xpeng 82 months to produce the first 500,000 cars. However, the journey from 500,000 to one million cars took the company only 14 months.

A significant part of this growth is due to the success of the Xpeng Mona M03 model, introduced last year. The Mona M03 accounts for one-fifth of the total one million Xpeng cars sold. On November 7, 2025, the company separately announced that Mona M03 deliveries reached 200,000 units — this milestone was also achieved in 14 months.

Among the new electric vehicle manufacturers in China, Li Auto was the first to reach the one-million milestone — in October last year. In September this year, Leapmotor joined the "millionaire club" with the support of Stellantis.

Xiaomi Auto, which only began deliveries last year, has not yet reached one million, but it took about 20 months to ship the first 500,000 cars to customers. The company has every chance of reaching the first million faster than any other new automaker.

Nio is still slightly below the one-million mark. As of October 31, 2025, Nio Group’s cumulative deliveries (including Onvo and Firefly brands) totaled 913,182 cars. With 40,397 cars delivered in October, the company is well-positioned to join the "millionaire club" this year.

So far, Nio, Xiaomi, and Xpeng have only sold fully electric cars, making the achievement of the million milestone a more challenging task compared to competitors focused on hybrids. Such as Li Auto and Leapmotor.

Xpeng has already started producing extended-range models (sequential hybrids), and Xiaomi will launch its own lineup of such cars next year. Against this backdrop, Nio may soon be the only manufacturer of exclusively electric vehicles in China.
