The electric hatchback BYD Dolphin will enter the South Korean market in the first half of 2026 at a price of about 20 million won (14,000 dollars), BYD Korea reported. The same price is set for the model in China.

BYD has completed the certification of the Dolphin and is currently determining the specific launch date in the country. Industry experts predict that it will likely be at the end of February next year, coinciding with the adoption of electric vehicle subsidy policies in South Korea for 2026.

Earlier this month, the BYD Dolphin became the third model in the Ocean series, following the BYD Song Plus and Seagull, to reach one million units sold in worldwide markets.

BYD currently sells the compact crossover Atto 3 (known as Yuan Plus in China), the Seal sedan, and the Seal 7 crossover in the South Korean market.

The 2025 version of the BYD Dolphin has four trim levels in the Chinese market priced between 99,800 and 129,800 yuan (from 14,100 to 18,500 dollars).

The model features a front-wheel-drive configuration and is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate Blade battery developed by BYD, available in two versions: a standard 44.9 kWh and an extended capacity 60.4 kWh. The range according to the CLTC cycle is 420 km and 520 km.

The synchronous permanent magnet motor delivers a maximum power of 70 kW (94 hp) and a peak torque of 180 Nm for the standard version, as well as 150 kW (201 hp) and 310 Nm for the version with extended range. In the fast DC charging mode, the battery charges from 30% to 80% in 28-29 minutes.
