Geely presented the updated Galaxy A7 sedan, which is now available in both hybrid and fully electric versions at an attractive price.

Despite the shared name, the versions with different powertrains are easily distinguishable by their appearance. The hybrid Galaxy A7 EM sedan looks bolder: it has a massive front bumper with an active air intake and lots of chrome. The Galaxy A7 EV electric version follows minimalism — a 'closed' face and cleaner lines.

Interestingly, the electric car turned out to be slightly larger than its hybrid brother. The length of the Galaxy A7 EV is 4935 mm, which is 17 mm more than the EM version. Both have the same wheelbase — 2845 mm. However, the ground clearance of the 'electric' is smaller: just 125 mm compared to 145 mm for the hybrid. This is the price for placing the battery under the floor.

Interior and the Meizu dilemma

The interior of both versions looks modern but without excessive futurism. In the center is a 14.6-inch touchscreen of the multimedia system, running on Flyme Auto 2. The main feature of the system is seamless integration with Meizu smartphones. However, there is a nuance: although Geely owns a controlling stake in Meizu, the phone manufacturer itself announced in February 2026 that it was stopping the development of new smartphones. So the bet on the 'ecosystem' currently looks somewhat doubtful.

Inside the car, the driver is greeted by a two-spoke steering wheel, a narrow digital instrument panel, and a 50W wireless charger. The front seats come with heating and ventilation as standard, and the sound is provided by Flyme Sound acoustics with 16 speakers. The trunk volume of the electric car is slightly larger — 547 liters compared to 535 liters for the hybrid.

Efficiency above all

The hybrid Galaxy A7 EM uses a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine that produces a modest 110 hp (82 kW). However, its main advantage is thermal efficiency above 47%, which is one of the best indicators in the world. Combined with an electric motor of 175 kW (235 hp), the system accelerates to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. Depending on the battery (18.4 or 28.3 kWh), the electric range is from 150 to 235 km, and the average fuel consumption remains at 2.2-2.3 liters per 100 km.

The fully electric Galaxy A7 EV received a 160 kW (215 hp) engine on the front axle. A 58.05 kWh battery allows travel up to 550 km on a single charge according to the CLTC cycle. The dynamics are slightly worse than the hybrid — 7.4 seconds to 'hundred', but energy consumption is very low — only 11.4 kWh per 100 km.

Geely continues its aggressive pricing policy. The hybrid Galaxy A7 EM is offered in five versions:
