In 2023, Jaguar will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the start of production of the XL120, the brand's first post-war sports car. In honor of this, the company will release a special version of the F-Type, which will also be the brand's last sports car with an internal combustion engine.
Jaguar Land Rover CEO Thierry Bollore told this in an interview to Auto Express. He did not reveal any details about the special F-Type, saying only that the special version would be the perfect conclusion to the brand's history associated with internal combustion engines.
After that, Jaguar will concentrate all efforts on the electrification of the model range. According to Reimagine strategies Jaguar will be the leading manufacturer of luxury electric vehicles valued at around $100,000. The first models of the new era will be built on a modern universal platform, which is initially designed for battery cars.
As Thierry Bolloret also mentioned, testing of the first prototypes of Jaguar electric vehicles on the new platform will begin in the near future. They will receive a striking design and advanced systems.
