Texas-based Hennessey has made a name for itself with super powerful versions of American muscle cars. Then there was the Venom GT supercar based on the Lotus Exige and the completely original Venom F5. Hennessey did not stop there and announced in November 2021 the all-electric Project Deep Space, a six-wheeled grand tourer with four seats arranged in a 1 + 2 + 1 arrangement.
In the new interview Autocar John Hennessey, CEO of Hennessey, has revealed more details about this unique electric vehicle.
Project Deep Space will cost about $3 million. The six-meter car can be used on public roads, but its circulation will be limited to 105 copies.
The expected output of Project Deep Space is over 2,000 horsepower. The designers set a goal to create the fastest four-seater production car. And although John Hennessy did not go into details of the battery, he specified that its charge would be enough for 620 miles (1000 km).
Given the size and the presence of at least six engines, it can be assumed that Project Deep Space will be a heavy vehicle. On the other hand, there will be enough space between the front and rear axles to install a massive battery.
Right now, Project Deep Space exists only as design sketches. The teardrop-like interior, with a central driver's seat and a fully reclining rear seat, is about 90 percent complete. In 2024, the company plans to present a prototype that will be 95% consistent with the final look of the production car.
By the way, the first copy of Project Deep Space has already been sold. It was purchased by a man whose collection includes a Hennessey Venom F5 in Mojave Gold.
