The Wall Street Journal informed that the government of the Czech Republic handed over to Ukraine several attack helicopters of the Mi-24 series at the end of May.
The Ukrainian military did not comment on this information, but on July 11 message The Command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that "Czech attack helicopters Mi-24V are already operating in the combat formations of the army aviation of the Ground Forces."

The number of Mi-24Vs received from the Czech Republic has not been officially disclosed. According to The Military Balance for 2021, there were a total of 7 helicopters of this model in the Czech Republic.
Mi-24 is a Soviet infantry support helicopter. It was put into mass production at the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant in 1972. It was the main attack helicopter of the USSR Air Force, their successors and the countries of the Eastern Bloc.
Built according to the classic single-rotor scheme with a five-bladed three-hinged main and three-bladed tail propellers. Chassis tricycle, retractable, with a swivel front support. Armor protected elements of the cockpit, engine oil tanks, main gearbox and hydraulic tank.
The crew of the Mi-24 consists of three people. In addition, the helicopter can carry up to eight paratroopers.
