An example of how a decommissioned specialized vehicle can get a second life as a motor home.

Collectief Soepel is a company made up of six entrepreneurs, each with a different background, which has allowed them to bring their own perspective to construction. They joined forces to build this incredible motorhome based on the Mercedes Vario 4x4. This is their sixth camper project and they have put their experience to good use in transforming a retired fire truck.

The Mercedes Vario 4x4 is a four-wheel drive truck with a GVW of 7.5 to 8.2 tons, which is mainly designed for professional use. With a length of 6.90 meters, a width of 2.37 meters and a height of 3.55 meters, Vario is roomy enough for comfortable living and traveling.

In the living area of a former fire engine, a kitchen with birch plywood cabinets, ash countertops, and a built-in oven and sink has been made to meet the owners' cooking needs.

Above the hob is a porthole that allows natural light to enter and also serves as a design element. The round window is accentuated by a curved wall cabinet.

There is a bathroom opposite the kitchen.

The living room has a small table and built-in chairs where the owners can simply relax or enjoy their meal.

Two niches on both sides of the truck can accommodate a family of five. The authors of the project also provided a lot of storage space inside the motorhome. In addition, the wall in the bathroom has several shelves where you can store flower pots and the like.

This motorized home has doors made from 100% recycled GOGO plastic in some of the walls, and many of the details inside are made from Platowood, a material used for roofing and facade cladding, window and door frames.

Details of the former fire truck's operational capabilities have not been revealed, but given that the Mercedes Vario 4x4 is a vehicle well prepared for tough conditions, this motorhome will provide its owners with the opportunity to explore remote areas, bringing a lot of fun and entertainment.
