The Czech police spent about $14,000 to turn a confiscated Ferrari 458 Italia into a police car.

This car was confiscated and stood on the penalty area for 10 years. The leadership of the police of the Czech Republic decided that there was no use for an immobilized sports car (besides, storage is not free) and ordered to make a special vehicle out of it.

The Ferrari 458 Italia was released in 2011 and has only been driven about 2000 km. Equipped with a 4.5L V8 engine with a capacity of 565 hp, capable of accelerating to 326 km / h. In the Czech police, the sports car will be used to pursue the most aggressive drivers in cars of this class, in pursuit of stolen cars and to monitor official tuning events.

This car is one of many that are seized as criminal property every year. Thanks to the work of the police, the Ferrari 458 Italia cost the state less than buying, for example, a new Škoda Scala, a little more than 300,000 CZK (14 thousand US dollars). This amount includes the cost of initial maintenance and revision for the needs of the traffic police.

The vehicle has a special color scheme. Initially, the car was red, but for the police it was completely repainted and reflective stripes were applied. Ferrari also installed special signals, surveillance cameras, a radio station and a speed control radar. The police promised that only employees with special training will drive the sports car.
