According to information Spiegel The German federal government approved the sale of 100 modern PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine on 13 July. However, the manufacturing company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) only confirmed this today, July 27th.
Ukraine turned to Germany with a request to purchase the PzH 2000 back in April. KWM valued the contract for 100 self-propelled howitzers at 1.7 billion euros. For comparison, in six months, Germany transferred weapons to Ukraine worth 600 million euros.

Today, Ukrainian artillerymen use 12 PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers in the war against Russia. These vehicles were transferred by Germany and the Netherlands.
The Panzerhaubitze 2000 was developed by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann in 1998. Built on the basis of the Leopard 2 tank, it is characterized by a high level of system automation and rate of fire.
Equipped with a 155 mm howitzer with a 52 caliber barrel. Ammunition includes 60 shells and 228 modular propellant charges. According to the development company, the PzH 2000 is capable of firing three standard projectiles in nine seconds or ten in 56 seconds at a range of up to 30 km.
