In March 2022, Polestar unveiled the Polestar O₂ concept in Los Angeles. The car received positive feedback from the public and the company decided to put it on the conveyor in a slightly modified design and under the index 6.
The roadster will be built on the Polestar aluminum platform. It will have a high-performance 800-volt electrical architecture similar to that of the Polestar 5 sedan. The power plant will reach 650 kW (884 hp), accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and the maximum speed will be limited at around 250 km/h.

First, Polestar will release 500 numbered units of the Polestar 6 LA Concept edition. They will feature a unique sky blue exterior, light leather interior and 21-inch wheels inspired by the Polestar O₂ Concept.
You can pre-order the Polestar 6 here. The start of serial production of the new roadster is scheduled for 2026.
Theoretically, the Polestar 6 should become a competitor to the second-generation Tesla Roadster, which was announced back in 2017, but has not yet entered the assembly line. This two-door car, according to Tesla's promises, will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 1.9 seconds, top speed will exceed 400 km/h, and the range will be 1000 km.
Polestar is a Swedish electric car manufacturer owned by Volvo Cars and Geely.
