The Venom F5 Roadster is equipped with a 6.6L V8 Fury engine that develops 1817 horsepower (1842 "metric" horsepower) and 1617 Nm.

The new Venom F5 Roadster is an open version of the Venom F5 coupe that Texas-based Hennessey unveiled in 2020. The roadster received the same twin-turbocharged V8 Fury engine and a seven-speed single-clutch robotic transmission. A two-door car can go faster than 300 miles per hour (482 km/h).

Hennessey expects the Venom F5 Roadster to surpass the company's own record for the world's fastest open car of 265.6 mph (427.3 km/h) currently held by the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder.

Given that the roadster is technically identical to the regular Venom F5, acceleration from standstill to 60 mph (96 km/h) should take about 2.6 seconds.

The main differences in the roadster are visible to the naked eye. Instead of a hardtop, there is an 18 lb (8 kg) removable composite panel. It is attached to the machine with four quick-release bolts and two latches. When the section is not needed, it can be stored in a special merino wool bag or mounted on a pedestal created by the HSV design team. The stand is made of carbon fiber, and its shape resembles the design of individual elements of the hypercar itself.

Another feature is the tempered glass engine bay viewing window. This panel in the center of the rear engine cover gives a view of the massive Fury V8 engine in all its glory. The glass is certified for use in jet aircraft, withstands temperatures up to 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit (540 degrees Celsius) and high aerodynamic loads.

The glass is framed with a carbon fiber frame. Through the holes in it and the aluminum slots, heat is removed from the engine. The Venom F5 Roadster also differs from its coupe sibling with unique wheels. Forged from aluminum alloy and then sanded, the lightweight wheels have seven pairs of spokes, each shaped like an elongated "H". Each wheel rim is engraved with "Hennessey" on the outside and "Roadster" on the opposite side.

The Hennessey Venom F5 Coupe was designed from the outset with an open-top version in mind, so in the case of the roadster, only minor adjustments were required to ensure the necessary rigidity and strength of the chassis. The developers have promised that drivers of the open car will experience the same crisp handling characteristics found in the Venom F5 Coupe with or without the roof installed.

The Venom F5 Roadster will be produced in Texas in an exceptionally small run of just 30 units. Production will start at the end of 2022.

Hennessey Special Vehicles has valued the new Venom F5 Roadster at $3 million, with each of the 30 built specifically for the needs of customers.
