Xpeng plans to launch two new models in 2023, the so-called B-class car and the C-class car.

Xpeng currently sells four EV models — the flagship P7 sedan, the cheaper P5 sedan, the G3 SUV, and the larger G9 SUV, which will start shipping in October. Two new items will be added to this list next year.

Xpeng has yet to reveal the names or other details of these electric vehicles. However, some information was shared by the president of the company, Brian Gu.

XPeng P7 The 4.9-meter XPeng P7 Sedan is available in single-engine (rear-wheel drive) and two-engine (all-wheel drive) versions. The price in China is from 253 thousand yuan (37 thousand US dollars) for a rear-wheel drive modification with a 60.2 kWh battery.

Gu said the B-class car will be released in the first half of next year and "will actually be aimed at an even wider market segment" than the P7 sedan. He said the car could be considered a "strong competitor" to the Tesla Model Y.

The C-Class model will be released in the second half of 2023. This car will be aimed at a new segment for the young brand.

Gu also said that the new models will not be sedans and their prices will be different from Xpeng's already introduced electric vehicles.

XPeng G9 The 4.8-meter XPeng G9 can also be rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, but they have the same battery - with a capacity of 98 kWh. The expected price is up to 500 thousand yuan (74 thousand dollars).

From January to July 2022, sales of XPeng vehicles in China reached 80,507 units, up 108% over the same period in 2021. The company calls itself the number 1 new car brand in China.
