Tiago.ev is presented with two types of battery. The entry-level version has a 19.2 kWh package and a 3.3 kW AC charging system. The more advanced one has a 24 kWh battery and the charging system can be 3.3 kW or 7.2 kW. The base model of the compact hatchback costs $10,000, but the most expensive option is $14,500.
Surprisingly, Tata offers DC fast charging on the Tiago.ev. The company does not specify the maximum top charge rate, but it states that 110 kilometers can be added with only 30 minutes of charging.

While Tata Motors advertises that the Tiago.ev with a 19.2 kWh battery pack has a range of 250 km (155 miles), this is only under ideal conditions on the Modified Indian Driving Cycle (MIDC). In Reality, we would expect shorter distances. It may be challenging to imagine driving a hundred miles (160 km) on the highway.

The electric car with a bigger 24 kWh battery pack would have as much as 315 km (194 miles) of range, according to Tata Motors. That's the same amount of charge as the original Nissan Leaf's battery pack, which could only travel 117 kilometers (73 miles) on a single charge. However, it was a bigger vehicle.
Tiago.ev will offer telematics as a standard feature on all trims. The ZConnect app features include Remote AC ON/OFF with temperature setting, Remote geo fencing & car location tracking, Smart watch connectivity, Remote vehicle health diagnostics, Real-time charge status, Dynamic charger locator, Driving Style analytics amongst others.
Deliveries will begin in January 2023, and Tata Motors is now taking reservations.
The electric car market is still in its nascent stages in India, but the Tiago.ev could be a game-changer. It's one of the most affordable EVs on the market and it offers a decent range. If Tata Motors can deliver on its promises, the Tiago.ev could help make electric cars more mainstream in India.
