French Alpine has teased the most hardcore version of the A110 coupe. The R version will retain the 1.8-liter turbocharged gasoline engine from the S version, but it will be faster.

The Alpine A110 R will get a 300 hp and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) of torque. Even so, it will accelerate quicker and has a higher top speed than the previous model. In fact, Alpine has already announced that the A110 R will hit 285 km/h (177 mph) and a new teaser shows getting there will take a few ticks less than before.

The S promises a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 4.2 seconds, while the R will beat that time by dropping below the four-second mark. A video clip of the powerful car on a dyno performing a sprint in 3.9 seconds has been posted on social media. It's only half a second slower than a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS.

The A110 R will be even lighter than the A110, according to Renault's performance arm Alpine. However, without giving specific numbers, they said it would be "even more" light. The A110 is one of the lightest sports cars money can buy, between 2,429 and 2,513 pounds (1,102 to 1,140 kilograms) depending on the level of equipment.

The Alpine A110 is a sports car that was introduced by French car manufacturer Alpine in March 2017. It has a rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive.  The A110 name had been previously used for the original Alpine A110 that was produced from 1961 to 1977. The cost of the base coupe starts at 60500 euros (59330 dollars)
