The most affordable seven-seat station wagon on the European market finally gets an engine with more than three cylinders. Furthermore, the Dacia Jogger is now available with both manual and CVT gearbox options.

One year ago, the Romanian automaker promised it would add a more powerful engine to the Jogger's lineup. As promised, Dacia has prepared the Jogger Hybrid 140 for the 2022 Paris Motor Show. The mill will output a maximum of 140 horsepower (104 kilowatts), which is a significant improvement over the 1.0-liter three-cylinder gas engine's 110 hp (81 kW).

Dacia doesn't reveal the precise details of the new hybrid engine, but we expect it to inherit the Clio's 1.6-liter electrified powertrain. The small hatchback is powered by a combination of an electric motor and a combustion engine, which work together to create 140 hp (104 kW) of power. This powertrain is linked to a CVT gearbox, which then sends the power to the front wheels.

As a reminder, Dacia Jogger is the longest and largest vehicle in Dacia's line, with a length of 4.55 meters (17 feet) and a cargo capacity of 708 liters (25 cu ft) in a five-seat configuration. When you fold down the second row of seats, you'll open up 1,819-liters (64.23-cu ft) of available space. The model will definitely benefit from a more powerful hybrid system.

All of the tech features for Dacia's first-ever production hybrid will be unveiled next week at the 2022 Paris Motor Show. You will be able to pre-order the electrified wagon-SUV-MPV mashup early next year, with sales planned to start in the spring of 2023.
