The Volvo EX90's latest teaser images display the model's sleek exterior with gentle curves and minimal lines, rather than the more common angular edges seen on many contemporary SUVs.

The Volvo EX90's exterior appears to be based on the Concept Recharge show car from last year. The electric SUV has thin LED headlights in Volvo's 'Thor's Hammer' style, while the C-shaped tail-lights are unique to this model and pay homage to older XC90 models that had vertical tail-lights.

In addition to several other features, the EX90 has a lidar sensor mounted on its roof. This allows for pedestrian detection at up to 250 meters away and also enables advanced semi-autonomous driving functionality, as Volvo claims.

Volvo announced that the EX90 will be revealed on November 9 in Europe and production of this electric SUV is set to begin next year. Volvo is expected to sell its new electric model alongside petrol and hybrid variants of the XC90.

The Volvo EX90 will be manufactured alongside the Polestar 3 SUV, which is produced by Volvo's electric sub-brand, Polestar. Both companies are owned by Chinese car-maker Geely.
