If you're looking for something a step above VW's PanAmericana trim level, Delta4x4 might be worth checking out. The German off-road specialist is preparing a beefier version of the midsize pickup, and official renderings provide an early glimpse of the appropriately named "Beast".

The 2023 Amarok will have a LED light bar on the roof and more light-emitting diodes attached to a front bull bar. PIAA will be supplying the extra lights while Horntools has been chosen to provide a winch. Other upgrades include the roof rack, Delta4x4's badges on the front and rear, along with "Beast" red decals down the sides of the bed.

The new suspension system will allow the modified Amarok to sit 150 millimeters (almost six inches) higher than the standard truck, which enhances its all-terrain capabilities. Delta4x4 is also planning on installing beadlock wheels wrapped in either 305/70 R18 or 35x12.5R20 tires. To accommodate the large wheel + tire combo, giant fender flares will make VW's new go-anywhere truck considerably wider.

Technical specifications have not yet been revealed, but the renderings suggest that the aftermarket project will be based on a six-cylinder engine. This 3.0-liter diesel engine is connected to a ten-speed automatic transmission and produces up to 247 hp (184 kW).

The development of the Volkswagen Amarok is still underway, and there is no word yet on when the "Beast" will be completed. But we hope it's soon, as we'd love to see this thing in the flesh. For now, stay tuned for more information as Delta4x4 releases it.
