The new generation Accord from Honda is a clear answer to Toyota's Camry. Even though it uses the same platform as its predecessor, this car has changed significantly on both the inside and outside. The hybrid version is no longer offered as a separate model; rather, it's the only powertrain available for Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring trim levels.

The main thing you need to know about the LX and EX trims is that they are now only available with a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four engine. This engine has been updated to be more refined and responsive, even though it still has 192 horsepower. Another thing to know is that the CVT transmission now simulates gear changes under heavy throttle.

The Accord hybrid has the same new petrol-electric powertrain that was so impressive in the 2023 Honda CR-V. It has more power (204 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque) and simulated gear shifts that make it much more fun to drive than its predecessors or Toyota's hybrids. Meanwhile, the 2.0-liter turbo-four has been discontinued, as well as the manual transmission.

The new Accord's chassis is more rigid than before and boasts improvements to the ride, handling, and overall refinement. The suspension was retuned for a more engaging driving experience, with an emphasis on reducing steering friction and increasing steering smoothness.

By adopting the same sporty motif as the Honda Civic, HR-V and CR-V, the interior space of the new Accord has been upgraded to look more luxurious. The change in appearance gives off a stronger impression than its aforementioned siblings, though it should be noted that Honda only unveiled the range-topping Accord Touring trim level.

The Accord has a new 12.3-inch touchscreen that is standard on the hybrid trim levels. This touchscreen is different from the ones found on the LX and EX because it has a widescreen layout that allows for split-screen functionality. The menu buttons are on the left side of the screen. They stay in place when you use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is really helpful. Plus, this is the first Honda that has Google built-in capability. This means that you can use Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play app menu while driving.

The Honda Accord now comes standard with front knee airbags and rear passenger side airbags. It also has next-generation front airbags that are designed to reduce brain and neck injuries.

Other notable tech enhancements include standard over-the-air updates and sharp-looking all-digital instruments. There is also a new Bose Centerpoint sound system available on the Touring. The driver assistance and safety technologies known as HondaSensing were upgraded with features such as improved cameras, radar, and more natural responses from the adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist systems.

The 11th-generation Accord will be built in Marysville, Ohio again. This is the same place where Accords have been made for 40 years now. Pricing will be revealed closer to the new Accord's on-sale date.
