Toyota Hilux EV Concept gives a first look at what a zero-emissions truck could potentially be

Toyota has unveiled an intriguing all-electric pickup truck in Thailand, based around the current-generation Hilux and showcased during an event celebrating the brand’s 60th anniversary in the country.

The Hilux Revo BEV Concept is an electric vehicle that, as of now, not much is known about in terms of technical specifications. However, we do know that it takes design cues from the regular Hilux but has been given a number of different styling changes to make it more unique.

The most visible changes are at the front end, where Toyota has installed a closed-off grille and a charging port on the passenger-side front quarter panel.

The concept truck was presented on stage by Akio Toyoda, President and CEO of Toyota Motor Corporation, who hinted at least some of the development work for the EV truck was made in Thailand, where the Hilux is a massively popular vehicle. Toyoda, however, didn't provide technical specifications for the battery-powered truck, which shared the stage with the IMV 0 Concept, a light commercial vehicle prototype.

 

 

We are looking forward to learning more about this new electric vehicle from Toyota, which could be a major step in the company's plans for zero-emissions transportation. With increased focus on emissions reduction, it is likely that we will see more all-electric pickup trucks like the Hilux Revo BEV Concept hit the roads in the near future.
