The 2023 Renault Megane RS Ultime has made its debut at the 2023 Tokyo Auto Salon, marking the end of Renault's RS line of performance vehicles.

The company will now be utilizing the Alpine brand for its future performance models. This limited-edition Megane RS Ultime model, with a production cap of 1,976 units as a nod to the year Renault Sport was founded, is an upgraded version of the Trophy model and boasts several distinct visual enhancements.

The Ultime is available in four color options: Star Black, Pearl White, Sirius Yellow, and Tonic Orange, and features matte black graphics on the front doors and fenders, as well as on the hood, roof, and rear bumper. The car also features a black "Ultime" monogram on the front and black accents on various exterior features such as the door handles, side mirrors, window frames, diffuser, wheels, and logos.

The car's exterior design is further distinguished from the regular Megane with wider front and rear fenders and a central exhaust. Inside, the vehicle boasts Recaro bucket seats with titanium black Alcantara upholstery and RS logos. Additionally, a numbered metal plate signed by development driver Laurent Hurgon, who holds Nürburgring, Suzuka, and Spa-Francorchamps records for front-wheel-drive cars, is placed on the center console to signify the car's special status.

The only options available for the Megane RS Ultime are a sunroof and a head-up display, both of which are exclusively available for left-hand-drive cars. Buyers also have the option of adding a custom car cover.

It is exclusively sold with EDC transmission and powered by a turbocharged 1.8-liter gasoline engine generating 300 hp and 420 Nm (309 lb-ft) of torque. The car also comes with Bridgestone Potenza S007 semi-slicks, originally developed for the hardcore Trophy R, and sits on 19-inch Fuji Light wheels with Brembo brakes featuring red calipers.

Additional noteworthy features of the car include the lowered Cup chassis, rear-wheel steering, and a Torsen mechanical differential. The interior of the car also comes equipped with a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and 9.3-inch infotainment system with a dedicated telemetry system and Bose speakers.

The Renault Megane RS Ultime will hit showrooms this spring, replacing both the RS and RS Trophy versions and is expected to become a future collector's item.
