This follows the successful launch of the 2023 300C, which was announced as the last HEMI-powered model in September of last year. The 300C, which featured a 6.4-liter V8 engine, was limited to 2,000 units and sold out within 12 hours of orders opening.
Sources close to dealership documents have revealed that the 300S will be a more affordable version of the sedan, featuring Chrysler’s 5.7-liter V8 engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and rear-wheel drive. Despite its lower power output, the 300S will be equipped with a range of luxurious features, such as heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and advanced driving assist systems.
However, production of the 300S will also be highly limited, with just 1,450 units expected to be assembled in 2023. This makes it even rarer than the 300C, which has already sold out. In addition to the V8-powered model, Chrysler will also sell a version of the 300S equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine, with a peak output of 300 horsepower (220 kilowatts) and 264 pound-feet (358 Newton-meters) of torque. This version will be slower than the 300S and 300C, with a 0-60 time of 7.1 seconds, compared to 5.3 and 4.3 seconds for the 300S and 300C respectively.
The V8-powered 300S will have a starting price of $50,975 with destination fees included, while the V6 version will be cheaper, starting at $43,750 before options. The sold-out 300C had a starting price of $56,595 including destination, making it the most expensive 2023 Chrysler 300. It's worth noting that the production of the V6 version of the 300S will be limited to 850 units. The reservation books for the 2023 300S in both V6 and V8 forms are not open at this point, which means there is still a chance to buy one of these limited edition vehicles.
