Ram is set to release a fully-electric version of its popular ProMaster commercial van in the first half of 2023. The ProMaster EV will be based on the Fiat e-Ducato, which was co-developed with DHL and launched in Europe in 2021.

Ram's ProMaster commercial van had its second-best sales year in 2022, with 60,936 and 5,137 deliveries in the United States and Canada, respectively. The 2023 model year will see the ProMaster receive a fresh new face and a super high roof option. However, the most significant change for the ProMaster is the upcoming release of the ProMaster EV.

Ram has confirmed that the ProMaster BEV will be unveiled in the first half of 2023, with customer deliveries in the United States starting in the second half of the year. While Ram has not shared many details about the ProMaster EV, a report from MoparInsiders suggests that it will be heavily based on the Fiat e-Ducato.

The e-Ducato has a single electric motor with an output of 120 horsepower (90 kilowatts) and 210 pound-feet (280 Newton-meters) of instant torque. Customers in Europe can choose between a 47-kilowatt-hour or 79 kWh battery, which gives a range of up to 170 miles (280 kilometers) on a single charge measured by Europe's WLTP mixed cycle. The e-Ducato has a cargo volume of between 350 and 600 cubic feet (10 to 17 cubic meters) and a maximum payload of 4,300 pounds (1,950 kilograms). It is expected that the ProMaster EV will have similar specifications.

It will be interesting to see if the ProMaster EV will include the new Super High Roof option that was introduced for the 2023 ProMaster. This new option could make the ProMaster EV an attractive option for businesses that require additional cargo space.
