Milltek Sport, an exhaust specialist, has introduced a new range of performance exhaust systems for the latest Honda Civic Type R, promising increased engine power and a more distinctive exhaust note. The system can be managed through various driving modes to avoid disturbing neighbors at odd hours of the day.

The new Honda Civic Type R, known for its impeccable balance and handling, has already become a popular car in the market. Milltek Sport has now introduced a range of performance exhaust systems for the car, which promise to increase engine power and provide a more distinctive exhaust note. The new system also enhances turbocharger performance and reduces backpressure by over 20%, although the exact power gains have not been disclosed.

According to Milltek, the new design includes a different exhaust valve design that has seen a 15% increase in diameter, which enhances the sound of the exhaust note. Customers can choose from finishes such as Polished Stainless, Brushed Titanium, and Burnt/Blue Titanium, and there is also an option for a carbon fiber finish for the tailpipes. The Cerakote Satin Black is the final option available.

Each Type R exhaust system from Milltek is made up of seven parts, including a front flex pipe, front silencer or bypass section, and center silencer or bypass section. The system also consists of a rear connecting pipe, a dual rear silencer, the larger valve outlet, and one of several tailpipe tips.

The exhaust specialist's upgrade also includes a heat shield design that protects the trunk floor from heat transfer while improving airflow in the vicinity of the rear silencer. Resonated, non-resonated, and sports cat systems are all available, and durability is guaranteed by the anti-magnetic T304L 'aircraft grade' stainless steel construction.

While Milltek's exhaust system retains the triple tailpipe arrangement, all the pipes are the same size, which offers a more streamlined appearance. On the stock Type R, the center pipe is larger, and customers wanting the latter design can also have it. Either way, customers will get the F40's iconic layout.

The performance exhaust system from Milltek Sport has been selling quickly, with over 70% of the first batch pre-sold.
