This new model, which is essentially the North American HR-V adapted for the European market, aims to fill a gap between the HR-V and the CR-V.

The 2024 Honda ZR-V stands out with its hybrid powertrain, which is exclusively available in Europe. This 2.0-liter hybrid engine, also found in the Japanese market, generates a combined output of 181 horsepower and 315 Newton meters (232 pound-feet) of torque. While specific performance figures have yet to be released, Honda promises "powerful acceleration comparable to a V6 3.0-liter engine" thanks to the integration of electric motors in the hybrid system.

With a length of 4570 millimeters (180 inches) and a width of 1840 mm (72.4 inches), the ZR-V sits closer in size to the outgoing CR-V rather than the newly unveiled European-spec CR-V. This makes it an ideal option for customers seeking a compact crossover with ample cargo space. With the rear seats folded, the ZR-V offers an impressive cargo capacity of 1,291 liters (45.6 cubic feet).

Honda officially revealed the ZR-V at the European Media Event in Offenbach, Germany. The crossover is scheduled to go on sale in the fall, positioning itself as a direct competitor to popular models like the Nissan Qashqai and other compact crossovers in the European market.
